Check-In Options

Choose who appears at check-in, what columns show, which alerts pop up, security prompts like passcodes and pick-up names, text messages to families, and waiver requirements for each show.

Written by Joe Naftal

Each show has its own check-in options. Open the show's check-in screen and click the gear in the top right.

Tip: Changes save as soon as you click them, so there's no Save button.

General

  • Name format: First Last or Last, First.

  • Sign-In Only mode: hides sign-out for shows where you only need to check people in.

  • Table fields: choose which columns show, like Parent Names, Alert and Medical Info.

  • Include in check-in: Dancers, Student Assistants, Volunteers and Staff. Volunteers and staff are included if they're assigned to a routine in the show.

Alerts

Turn on alerts that pop up, with a sound, when someone signs in or out: their Alert, Medical Info, Dressing room, Multiple routines, and their first routine (at sign in) or last routine (at sign out).

Security

  • Require Studio Admin password to undo sign in/out: stops anyone else from undoing a check-in.

  • Allow dancer to be signed in again after sign out: for dancers who leave and come back.

  • Drop-off and pick-up prompts: ask for the name or relationship of the person dropping off or picking up.

  • 4-digit passcode: the parent sets a code at sign-in and must enter the same code at sign-out.

  • Confirm dancer's phone numbers: asks the parent to check the family's numbers. Changes update the family record.

  • Custom parent barcode: after sign-in, scan a wristband or other barcode and link it to the dancer. Siblings can share one.

  • Backstage pass scanning: use the device camera and a barcode scanner, or a barcode scanner only.

Messaging

Turn on Send text message on check-in or on check-out to text each phone number on the dancer's family. Edit the message and click the buttons to insert details like the dancer's name, show or first routine. Messages always start with your studio name.

Good to know: Check-in texts need Messaging (Essentials or Production Pro), set up under Messaging, then Settings. On Free, the switch can be on but no texts are sent. Texts use message credits if you're on ShowSculptor's shared number.

Waivers

For each waiver, choose Not Visible, Optional (can be signed from the check-in screen) or Required (must be signed before the dancer can sign in). Create waivers under Settings, then Waivers.
