In order to assign dancers to a show through the Akada Software API, make sure you've enabled and setup the Akada Software integration in Integration Settings.
To assign dancers to a show from Akada go to Shows>View All Shows in the sidebar.
Click the gray Assign from Akada button next to the show name.
