About Routines

What a routine is in ShowSculptor, how to find one, what each tab on a routine's page is for, and how to delete a routine.

Written by Joe Naftal

A routine is one dance in your show. It holds everything about that dance in one place: who's in it, when it rehearses and takes photos, tech notes and cues for your crew, costumes and files. Go to Routines in the menu.

Find a routine

  • Type in Search routines to find a routine by name.

  • Use the All genres menu to show only one genre, like Jazz or Tap, or routines with No genre.

  • Click a routine's card to open it.

What's on a routine's page

  • People: the dancers, teachers, teacher assistants and volunteers in the routine

  • Schedules: the shows it's in (with its spot in the running order), plus photo and rehearsal times

  • Technical: lighting, sound, set/prop and video notes, how the routine starts and ends, cues and lighting looks

  • Stage Diagram: where dancers stand on stage

  • Costumes: costume looks, costume notes and dancer measurements

  • Costume Orders: appears once the routine has a costume look

  • Documents: files like formation sheets, music cuts or prop photos

Click Edit at the top to change the routine's name, genre or image.

Delete a routine

On the Routines page, click the trash can on the routine's card, then click Delete.

Good to know: Deleting a routine permanently deletes everything in it, including its cast, schedules, notes, cues and documents. It can't be undone.

Common questions

How do I add a routine to a show?

Routines are added to shows from the show itself. Go to Shows, open the show and add the routine to its lineup. The show then appears on the routine's Schedules tab.

Why don't I see a Costume Orders tab?

It only appears after you add a costume look on the Costumes tab.
