About Families

Dancers can be optionally organized into families such as siblings, parents and children, etc. Families can be used to check in family together.

Add/Import Your Dancers First

First you should add or import your dancers before creating families, as you will need dancers to assign to the families.

Families Screen

Access the Families screen by clicking the Families button in the navigation sidebar.

Adding a Single Family

Click the blue "Add New Family" button to create a new family.

Enter the Family Name, Primary Email, and Primary Phone Number for the family.

Assign Dancers to a Family

Click the "Details" button next to a family name to see Family Details. From the Family Details screen you can assign dancers to a family.

Auto-Create Families

Instead of creating families and assigning dancers one by one you can automatically create families by clicking the "Auto-Create/Update Families" button.

This process will automatically create families and assign all dancers with the same email address to the same family.

For example, if dancers Jane Smith and Sally Smith both have the email address [email protected], the system will create a family with the Family name Smith and assign Jane and Sally to that family.

If the dancers have different last names, it will combine the names in the Family Name. For example, if John Appleseed and Amy Carter both have the same email address, it would create a family with the family name Appleseed/Carter.

Checking In Families Together

You can optionally check in the entire family at the same time by scanning one dancer's backstage pass or by searching for the dancer and clicking Sign In. To do this, you must enable "Prompt to Sign In Entire Family Together" on the Edit Show screen for that show.
