About Costume Management

An overview of costume management in ShowSculptor: costume looks, vendors, tights and shoes, costume orders, labels, pickup, the photo gallery and pricing analytics, and which plans include them.

Written by Joe Naftal

ShowSculptor keeps every routine's costume in one place, from picking the costume and its sizes to ordering, labeling and handing it to families. Everything is under Costumes in the menu.

What's in the Costumes menu

  • Costumes: every routine with its costume looks. Search to find a routine.

  • Photo Gallery: the main costume photo for every routine and look.

  • Pricing Analytics: compare what each look costs.

  • Costume Orders: every costume and tights order across your routines, by item and size or by dancer.

  • Costume Pickup: scan costume labels as families pick them up.

  • Costume Vendors: the companies you order from, with their sizes and size charts.

  • Tights Setup and Shoes Setup: the tights and shoes you use, so you can add them to looks quickly.

The basic steps

  1. Set up your vendors, and your tights and shoes if you use them.

  2. Build a look for each routine: the main costume plus accessories, tights and shoes.

  3. On each routine's Costume Orders tab, choose each dancer's look and sizes, and track the order status.

  4. Use Costume Orders to see totals by item and size for ordering from your vendors.

  5. Print costume labels with a barcode for each dancer's costume.

  6. Scan labels at Costume Pickup to mark costumes picked up and email the family.

Plans and permissions

  • Costume Orders, Costume Pickup and costume labels are part of Production Pro. On other plans, Costume Orders and Costume Pickup show a lock icon, and a routine's Costume Orders tab shows an upgrade message. Costume looks, vendors, the gallery and pricing work on every plan.

  • Staff need the Costumes permission to see the Costumes menu, and Costume Pickup to scan pickups. Turn off View Costume Pricing for staff who shouldn't see costs.
