Stage Manager

Run your show from backstage: mark which routine is on stage, see each routine's dancers, notes and cues, time the show and intermissions, take notes, choose which modules show, and change the show order with quick-change warnings.

Stage Manager is part of Encore: included on Production Pro, or $29 per show on Essentials.

Go to Encore, then Stage Manager, and choose the show. Today's shows are listed first.

Run the show

  • The lineup is on the left. Click a routine, or use the up and down arrows, to move through the show.

  • Click Mark On Stage when a routine starts. Everyone running Stage Manager or the Show Status Display sees it right away, and a star marks it in the lineup.

  • Each routine shows its dancers, teachers, assistants, volunteers, notes, start and end positions, costume color, documents, cue table, lighting looks and staging diagram.

Good to know: Edits you make in Stage Manager, like notes or cues, save to the routine itself.

Choose what you see

Click Modules to turn sections on or off and reorder them. This is saved on your device. Save a layout as a view to share it with your team. You can also show Not Checked In and Costume Not Changed alerts on dancers.

Time the show

Use the timer bar at the top. Click Start Show (or Act 1 Start) when the curtain opens, then the next button at each intermission and at the end. Click Pause if the show stops. Open the timer to see the total run time and each act and intermission.

Take notes

Click + Note to jot something down. It's saved with the time and the routine that was on stage. Click Notes to see every note from the show.

Change the show order

  1. Click Show Order.

  2. Drag routines, or use the arrows, to put them in the new order.

  3. Check Costume change impact on the right. It shows quick changes your new order creates or fixes, where a dancer has one or no routines between their numbers.

  4. Click Save order and confirm.

  5. Everyone viewing the show is updated and notified right away.
